question for all yall 30/30 handi-loaders

jus got word from brian56 that cyrus's new barrel is bout to ship.
so i need to know what yall been use'n for COL....??
so i can have him sum them cartridges ready for when it comes in !!!
yep, i know tha story bout all are different...ya gotta remember ya preachen to tha choir here
i don't need no theory or teach'n , jus needta know some COL lengths..............
i ain't got no handi in this chamber size.... but got many in other brand that requires 2.550
like spec for the bullet and others i've used for bout 50years
maybe handi's have that depth too........it would be great, or do sum yall's hava deep chamber ??
QL says 2.550 for my chosen projectile.........jus try'n to shave sum time to get him shoot'n
gimme a start'n point... i'll do tha rest.  jus COL (cartridge overall length) from what yall have
had good performance with is all i need. i cud jus wait and doa chamber cast ora quick depth check
but tha boys are flippen out now !!  so close is close

Just remember that the COL will differ depending on the bullet you use , I've had good luck with both the little Remington 110g that is made for the 30 Carb as well as the Speer 168g BTHP's that the 308 target shooters use , both shot VERY well in my 30/30 .

Don't know if this will help ya John but here are 4 bullets that I have checked in my 30/30 Handi.
 
Hornady 110 gr. V-Max touch the lands @ 2.728" COL
Sierra 150 gr. ProHunter touches the lands @ 2.723" COL
Nosler 125 gr. Ballistic Tip touches the lands @ 2.817" COL
Remington 150 gr. CLSP touches the lands @ 2.550"

In my two modern 30-30 barrels, I've loaded the 150gr Nosler Partition spitzer at 2.703" which is .010" off the lands. In the 30-30AI, the 125gr Sierra Prohunter SPT(spitzer)  COL is 2.720" which is just .003" off the lands. FWIW, there have been lots of posts about short throated 30-30 barrels.

thats great bill !!! so its look'n that tha handi barrel is quite healthy like sum tha others
i guess i need to occupy tha boys tha day it is scheduled to arrive so i can run thru it before i load
for it.  i think i'm gunna plan them a critter hunt by boat that afternoon.......hmmmmmmmmm !!!!

I forgot the fireform loads for the 30-30AI, those were 150gr Hornady Interlock spitzers at 2.745", 010" off the lands.

Mine may have a short throat , I think maybe thats why it seems to do so well with the stubby 110's and the long ogive of the 168's , just never bothered to check it .

I use 125 gr Rem PSP's, and they only will go about 2,510. They have a very square shoulder, that is why, Ihave some 147 gr FMJ's that will go out to almost 2.800. You have to check ! Get some and try them first in a dummy round before you load em up.
