Winchester 70 Coyote?
« on: June 16, 2012, 11:30:10 AM »
There is a Winchester model 70 Coyote in .22-250 for sale at my local gun shop for $595.  I looked at it today and it looks to be in about 95% condition comes with a bi-pod and scope mounts.  Just wondering if this is a good deal or not?  I don't really have any experience with Winchester bolt guns.

Posted this same reply a few threads up in Small Bore Rifles.

I would say they are asking about retail price for a barely used gun.
Not that bad depending on where you live.
Woods & mountains then they are asking enough.
In a section that is big on varmint hunting then about in line.
Compaired to the price of a 100% new one then it seems to be a good deal.
I have two of them.
One is in 243wssm and the other is in 270 wsm, both with wood laminate stocks.
Both are extremely accurate and very pleasant to shoot.
They are a little on the heavy side for carry guns but shoot and function great.
Of most of the Winchesters produced in the past few years these seem to be about the best made for a long time.
I really like mine and would likely buy another should one in a caliber I like come along.
