Sighting in open sights...........
« on: May 30, 2012, 02:32:22 PM »
Im just now getting into open sight hunting . All of my handguns have had either scopes or red dots now Im wanting to go with open sights. My question is , if you are hitting to the left and hi of your target which way do you adjust your rear sight?

Move the rear site in the direction of where you want the bullet to hit. If you are hitting low left then move rear sight right and up.

Danny has given it to you straight.

Don't think on it too much as you can "justify" it either way if you think too much. ;) LOL

It is correct as stated---as far as it goes.  Sometimes you may have the ability to adj the front sight. If you do then obviously you push it the opposite of the desired strike.  If you reach a point on a rear sight sush that you are out of adjustment and still ''too high; too low'', you'll have to get a proper height rear that gives proper travel OR adj the front to compensate.
Most all pistols and revolvers will have enough travel with factory sights.  When dealing with the ''specialty pistols'' that have sights replaced you'll have to ''use all of your powers and talents'' to get them where you want them.  rp

  All good advice ;
  Rear sight..move in the direction you want the bullet to go.

  Front sight.. move opposite the waqy you want the bullet to strike.

    Normally we trry to be sure the front sight is centered first.;
  Then start adjustment on the rear sight.
