We will not, however, see competitive yoga or pole dancing, but could we in the future?
It is known as a Zen way to get a work out but yoga competitions are popping up across the country. Athletes pick a routine of seven poses and are judged on their strength, flexibility, balance, and grace. There is a push to make yoga an internationally competitive sport but it will likely take many years before we see it in the Olympic Games.
How about pole dancing? Serious pole dancers are pushing to make it a sport and these pole performers could soon be going for the gold. The president of the International Pole Sport Federation is spearheading the push to make pole dancing an Olympic sport. Organizers say there needs to be more public awareness about the sport before it could go on a global stage like the Olympics
