Other than H&R not fitting rifle barrels to the frame, not a thing.  ;)

Quick,
Can you expand on this statement ? I have a Handi 280 that I just finished getting ready to go shoot for the first time, it's brand new and have questions before about the barrel. While giving it it's initial cleaning and scope mounting and what not I noticed that it didn't seem to always lock up when I closed it and had to slam it pretty hard. The latch button doesn't sit up as high as my 243 does and wasn't sure whether it's working properly or not. I really don't want to have to send it back in and go through all of that if I don't have to, but didn't know if I simply just need to close it harder. Would hate to have it pop open when I fire it !

Read #2 of the Handi Basics sticky, new H&Rs require a little extra effort closing the action to insure good lock up. Sometimes a pop open happens, it's startling, but not harmful in any way unless on an older ejector barrel, flying brass ya know.  :o
