45/70 Range Jag
« on: June 02, 2012, 03:54:17 PM »
Today after shooting my 45/70 handi, I couldn't find my cheapo plastic jag.  I wrapped patches around the .45 cal brush but wasn't satisfied with the results.  Looking in my pistol bag I noticed a 38 special fired case fit perfectly snug in the bore with a patch around it.  I pushed it into the chamber with my thumb and then down the bore with the cleaning rod.  Perhaps I have been playing with the muzzleloaders too much lately?  This may be a well know thing but I just wanted to share.
.45-70, because I can't use a bazooka.

Unless you are shooting blackpowder, you don't need to clean the barrel.  A dirty Handi Rifle is always more accurate.
