Conversion cylinder for .36 Remmie
« on: July 13, 2012, 08:10:44 AM »
I an thinking about getting a conversion cylinder for my .36 Remington 1858 New Model Navy. According to markings, it was made by Euroarms in 1973. I have had it nearly that long. It has seen little use. I thought I might shoot it more (in SASS) if I converted to cartridges. Who makes a cylinder for it? How much should I expect to spend?

If the revolver is that old, and made by Euroarms, and called a "New Model Navy", it may have the smaller Remington Navy sized frame.  In that case, the modern made Kirst or R&D (Howell) cylinders will be too large, as the Pietta and Uberti 36 Navies are made on the 44 frame.
If you have a 44, compare them, if the cylinders interchange, you can search for a 36 cylinder.  Ask VTI gunparts about cylinder for the older Euroarms.
