sidekick bullet/sabot combo
« on: June 17, 2012, 07:55:41 AM »
going to try bullet/sabot combo with pyrodex pellets/orange primer carriers- looking for best grouping-
hornady 250 sst ,low drag sabot all with 100-130 grain pellets
              300
240 xtp mag , crushed rib sabot
              300
sidekick seems to have tighter bore than other sidekick, loading 2nd shot is difficult--------any ideas?

also, planning to add hammer extension and ramrod w/a spin jag-where is good deal ?     thanks

One of my 50 cal. huntsmans has a real tight bore, I use mmp sabots, 50x451-452 3p-ez,that is the number to use it is a 3 petal instead of a 4 made for tight bores, they work great, www.mmpsabots.com, they will send free samples. Also I would switch to the band plug and use blackhon 209 for a powder and you will not have any loading problems  after the first shot Kernbigo

Give TC Cheap Shot Sabots a try.  It's a 240Gr. (all lead) Hollow Point, and it comes with the black sabots.  About seven bucks a pack of twenty.  I've been using them with 100Grs of T7, but Pyrodex should give you pretty good results.
