Schrade warranty, anyone ever sent one in?
« on: September 30, 2004, 01:31:06 PM »
i sent my Schrade Uncle Henry folding hunter in about 8 months ago for some warranty work.the lock for the blade quit working so youhad to be careful when gutting a deer.the blade would fold shut on you.i love this knife and i didnt break the bank when i got this thing.the trouble is the 8 month thing,i feel it should be done by now.i have called their 1-800 number many times but all you get is a recording.you cant find out anything about the knife.piss poor warranty dept if you ask me.they put their warranty out there with their knifes but its not worth the paper its printed on.

anyone else here ever sent a knife in for warranty work?

good thing i have other knifes with the Michigan bow season starting tomorrow

Schrade is now out of business, according to this month's issue of BLADE Magazine.

Dang I hate to hear that. I really liked many of their products. I have a Papa Bear that is about my favorite big folder. Had one before this one but it some how got lost. The leather is still here but knife is gone. Me thinks one of my two oldest sons made it go away when they borrowed my pickup which is where it stayed. Nope, they both claim total innocence, couldn't have been them.  :-D

I live a few miles from the factory, yes indeed their doors are closed and a good number of folks are out of work.

With a little luck maybe some other company will buy it and contintue making the knives. I have had a lot of thier knives. Most were well worth the money.
shot placement is everything.
