I have often thought of your State as too liberal, but I am proud of WI today. Another thing which helped matters is when your state passed Conceiled Carry. i simply will not drive into IL for this reason. You have some nice country, esp. toward the Northern part, reminds me of home minus 20-30 degrees depending on the time of the year.
May your State continue to prosper.

We are too liberal thanks to Madison and Milwaukee. If you take away those two liberal cesspools we would be extremely conservative.  Not only that, much better off...

Check out the results by county and you will see what I mean...

Thanks for the map. Alot of States have the Urban Lib & Minority population that controls the State or close to doing that. PA is another, as George Carville said you have Philly to the East, Pittsburg to the West & Alabama in the middle.

We have the same curse at work in NY State also.  Outside the cities, NY is a very red, conservative state.  Follow the cities from NYC up the Hudson and across the old Erie canal line.  Our map should really be a bright red state with 5 disgusting "blue spots" on it.. ;)   ;D
I have a feeling Washington (state) and  Minnesota carry the same "ball & chain"..Maine too, perhaps ?

Hmmm, most would see it as the voters of Wisconsin talked.  Oh well, sour grapes have a way of making some pucker up.

This is a riot!  Dems/liberals wailing that the WI election results were "bought" when there were were virtually no "undecideds" about 2 months ago.  Obama out-fundraised and out-spent McCain back in '08, so I guess he "bought" that election rather than winning it fair and square.

Sour grapes, indeed...!

If Wisconsin wants a little Nazi for a governor they can have him, I,m glad I don,t live in that loser state.

Raptor,

Scott Walker is no more a Nazi than the narcissistic liberal Messiah Barack Obama, despite the way Obama has treated the leader of the Jewish state of Israel.     Scott Walker believes in freedom for Americans, Obama does not believe in freedom for Americans.    I guess that means Barack Obama is your Nazi.

It seems pretty strange that when I call a member out for proof that Walker is the Nazi that he claims my post gets deleted. It's OK to call someone a Nazi without proof  according to the mod who deleted the post. Must be a Barrett supporter. I bet this post gets deleted also. If the Mod has an issue then on most board he/she would PM me instead of deleting my responce and letting the Nazi hater post stay . ;)

Hmmm lets see, NAZI is also National Socialist Party, which advocated Gov control in Germany & anywhere they ruled, the complete opposite of any principles of Walker. Libs throw the Nazi word around & have no historical knowledge of what NAZI stood for. Okay, let's see it explained how Walker was a NAZI!! ::)

Well said, nomosendero.   Personally, I think the libs in the general society, and here at GBO, know exactly who the Nazis were, the nature of their ideology, but use the stigma attached to that word to denigrate conservatives who achieve any measure of success.

I find it disgusting how the Rhetoric nowdays throws the words Nazi and Communist around so nonchalantly in our daily political discourse as of late. I have voiced my opposition to Walkers style of politics, and will continue to do so. I have called him corpo puppet boy and the like (cause I really do believe corporations are pulling his strings and not to the benefit of the middle class).

Heck aside from his Divide and Conquor mentality , outside of politics he may just be a regular Joe , how would I know.
I dont like his style , and disagree with his methods , and I believe his policies are all wrong, but I would never use the Terminology as the above two words mentioned for him or anyone else.

I think people do not understand the true weight these words carry and the emotions they stir.
Neither have a place in political discussions.

One thing hard to deny; the NAZIS were socialists;.. Socialism is the way dictators take control. The quickest way to institute a dictatorship is to "grow the government" until it governs every facet of citizen's lives.  That way, the would be emperor can either withold or distribute government largess..to buy votes, a constituency or obedience.  Don't we see that very thing being done even today ?

One of the most well known political parties of the 20th century which was socialistic was the National Socialist German Workers Party (NAZI) which was headed by  Adolf Hitler.

Christians and conservatives what less government.  Christians want moral government, but less intrusion in our lives.  I know it sometimes seems like double speak.  Christians do not want abortion or gay marriage.  Abortion is killing a human life and gay marriage is, was, and always not right.  The dictionary that I have and purchased in the 1980's says marriage is between a man and woman for the purpose of raising children and family.  Gays can't have children, thus marriage is an anomoly for them and a sin for Christians, like adultry, murder, etc.  Why should 3% of the population dictate what is right, when the majority do not agree.  Other than those two item Christians agree with less government and less intrusive government.  Christians can co-exist with others and other religion, but don't take away their right to voice their opinions or to not marry gays in church.
Obama is a dogmatic Fabian Socialist.  He believes the only way to "spread the wealth around" is for the government to do it by tax and spend.  The only way for there to be more wealth is to GROW the economy.  As the economy grows the pie is bigger for all Americans, and there is always upward mobility.  Obama is stiffling upward moblility.  Today there are fewer millionares that a few years ago.  So it is not just the poor or middle class loosing ground, all are.  5 years ago, there were about 25 million millionares in America.  Most through their 401-k savings.

Sometimes the truth hurts and that's just too bad.  I will call a spade a spade and a commie a commie.  Our current president is a communist, as are an awful lot of the politicians in his party.  If they don't like the title, then they need to change their beliefs.  A rose by any other name is still a rose and if a politician quacks like a commie, acts like a commie and governs like a commie--he is a stinking commie.  He is also a liar.  And by this morning's news, his administration is also likely engaged in treason.

The union leadership ideology is in fact Socialist. Anyone who would argue contrary to this is rediculous. Are some of the tactics used by the unions, Nazi like? YES.

Christians and conservatives what less government.

Not disagreeing with above statement , just pointing out for clarification.

Republican is not a synonym for conservative.

Republicans as of late claim they want small govt, but only when it suits them. When it comes to Science, Women's health , telling people what they can do with their bodies , skewing history school text books , they continue to play a Big Govt role.
True small govt is means less intrusive Govt , a line both parties are all too often blurring nowadays.

Ron Paul is correct.

You call it "Women's health", while others see it as murdering an unborn child.  Also, the problem with many history school text books is that they ARE skewed and some would like to see them actually teaching facts.

Republican is not a synonym for conservative.  Right, but they are MORE conservative than Democrats..so if the choice is still only between left/Right..I'd always rather be RIGHT!

Republicans as of late claim they want small govt, but only when it suits them They ALWAYS want smaller government than the Democrats.
When it comes to Science Are you talking science, or unproven theories ?
Women's health I like to see women healthy, I don't know any Christian who sees it differently ,
telling people what they can do with their bodies  As far as I am concerned, an adult can abuse or destroy THEIR OWN body all they want, but if they start torturing, mutilating or destroying innocent children's bodies, that's a different story. ,
skewing history school text books  It's not Christians who demanded that American history be taught in a way to besmirch our founding fathers.. ,

they continue to play a Big Govt role. Yes, the Democrats surely do!  They are "control freak" bureaucrats..

True small govt is means less intrusive Govt , a line both parties are all too often blurring nowadays. Correct, but the blur is much, much heavier on the left!   .

Ron Paul is correct.. ..But Ron Paul must now face facts and deal with Romney to get some of his ideas adopted!.

Sorry, abortion has nothing to do with women's health 99.99% of the time. It comes down to convience.  I don't want a baby now, so I am going to kill it.  I have no idea how anyone can rationalize the killing of a baby in any form.  I do think most people agree with this statement when they really think about it, but most ignore it altogether.  And I don't think we want government getting out of enforcing all civil laws.

What liberals do not realise is America is Unique.  Far right is not Nazi.  Nazi is far right socialist.  Communist is far left socialist.  Both socialist.  Far right conservatives in America are not Nazis.  They just want to return to small federal government, and get back to what we once had, freedom to do what you want to in life as long as it isn't murder, rape, stealing, etc.  Freedom to choose whether you want to be in a union or not.  Freedom to choose what medical insurance you want.  Freedom to do with what you want on your own property.

How can a government be far right and socialist at the same time.  Socialism is socialism and socialism is left.  Far right would be where everything is up to the individual and private enterprise.

Nazis are and/or were considered far right.  Nazi stood for, in German, National Socialist Party, however one party rule.  They allowed private ownership, except for Jews.  They allowed capitalism, however it was crony capitalism.  Communism is far left socialism with total government ownership of all property.  Communist China has drifted away from pure Command Communism to a form of Nazism.  One party rule but allowing capitalism to grow their economy.  They can be far more dangerous, like Nazi Germany, than the Soviet Union was.

America is unique with 3 part government, executive, legislative, and judicial.  It is supposed to be equal power to avoid a dictator.  However we have developed huge bloated bureaucracys that are not elected.  The large Federal government with it's bureaucracys has become a stranglehold on capitalism and private ownership and the persuit of happiness.  The presidential position has obtained too much power through executive orders and appointments to head the bureaus.  Congress has relinquished some of their power over the years.

Andrew Jackson was probably the first president to abuse his power, by disobeying a Supreme Court decision to NOT move the "Civilised" indian tribes to Oklahoma.  Cherokees were the largest number.  He said let the Supreme Court get an army and stop him.  Of course most Americans liked this because it opened up a lot of land for settlement.  It was not only Indian tribe in the south but also the midwest.

Abraham Lincoln also abused his power by suspending Habius Corpus during the Civil War.

FD Roosevelt got congress to give him the power of executive orders, which should have never happened.

Since then presidents have abused power by having "police" actions around the world without Declared Wars.

Now Obama is abusing power left and right.  Ignoring a judgement to allow drilling back in the Gulf, giving amnesty to ILLEGALS recently.  Using the EPA to get what he wants by shutting down coal power plants, suspending drilling permits on government lands, etc.
