Fast food has a much different meaning than it did 30 years ago.

Honestly, I can't say I'm surprised although I seldom go to McDonalds.

Fast food actually tasted like real food 30 years ago, and the burgers had MEAT in them. I moved to Lou from ILL 36 years ago, fast foods in our area were limited, but good. When I first moved to Lou I bought an Arbys roast beef and thought it was the best sandwich I'd ever tasted, didn't have them in my area of ILL. Then I tried a Wendys burger, WOW, best ff burger I'd ever had. Not so today with either of them. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

And children were raised to have respect and some semblance of work ethic.

When I was growing up (not all that long ago), my father used to always threaten me when I got lazy or rebellious.  I can't count how many times I heard "if you keep that up, you'll end up flipping burgers at McDonald's!"  Granted, a lot of really great people started out "flipping burgers", but those who took pride in the fact that they had a job and were paid to do it all turned out to "be somebody" later in life.  My wife is a prime example.  She worked at McD's for 2 years and said the worst part was dealing with her fellow employees who simply didn't care and had no ambition to be anything better.

My solution for McDonald's is simple - stop hiring every idiot who walks in off the street and fire those who obviously don't need to be there.
The problem with troubleshooting is....sometimes it shoots back!

I'll tell you what. The local Mc Rons is very nice, my order is never messed up, my change is correct, and the kids are pleasant and attentive. So results of the survey may be different from place to place.

If I want a mess from begining to end I will find a Burger King. For over 25 years I have been able to depend on that chain to rub me wrong every visit. They are going to some extreame efforts lately, might work. ::)

I have lived in three states, I am a regional truck driver throughout the mid and upper mid west. I visit lots of fast food joints, heck I deliver to a few. The local personnel have more to do with a store than any one other factor.

I've eaten at various McDonalds about once a month over the past four decades and have never once been dissatisfied with either the food or service. In my experience, it's been the most consistently good fast food joint in both categories (but seeing as how my 1st job was flipping burgers there, I would say that, wouldn't I?  ;)  ).

In-N-Out is my favorite burger place but I can't get a Filet-O-Fish (my all-time favorite fast food item) there. And you just don't want to mess with a man's Filet-O-Fish...

The other day I needed a quick lunch snack.  I usually detest fast food, but I stopped a McD for a egg mcmuffin, but was too late for that. So I asked the clerk what was on sale. He said look at the Dollar Menu pointing to it. I got a mixed salad and McChicken...total was $2.00 plus alittle tax.  Dressing included with the salad was Newman Balsamic all natural.  I thought that was pretty fair and square, and a fairly nutritous small lunch without a big fat bolous..

.
...TM7I do the side salad instead of fries most of the time. McRons does a good job on the salads. If i'm not having to drive I always get a Southwest Salad with a grilled chicken breast. if it were on a china plate you would think you were in a fine restaurant, it's that good
