Not knowing any of the circumstances in this case, I would have to say any charges against the father would be way out of line. Possibly a commendation would be in order though.

If, in fact, the guy actually was molesting the little 4 year old daughter, then the SOB got what he deserved... and that's one less "sick-O" we have to worry about.

HOWEVER... a medical examination of that little girl better "show" evidence that she had been molested (and then, the question would be... "molested by WHOM... the father, a brother, an uncle or the "perp"?) or the little girl must tell the police what the man was doing to her, etc., etc... or. unfortunately, her Dad could end up being charged with murder.

A man can't just beat another man to death, then claim the guy was molesting the man's little girl as the reason for the beating.  While most of us would be in favor of seeing the perp beat to death, the law looks at it differently.

There was a case here in CT a couple years ago.  A guy kicked in his neighbor's door and stabbed him to death because his daughter said that the man had exposed himself to her.  First reaction was that the scumbag got what he deserved.  That's the gut level first reaction of a father when you hear about a creep getting what's coming.  Facts started to unravell and a different  view opened up.  A kid saw a guy naked in his own house through a glass door, tells dad who then goes and kills his neighbor.  Think about that now, he kills his neighbor because a toddler said she saw his privates.  Was this guy in the window playing with himself?  Or was he walking from the shower to the bed room without closing a curtain on a door two rooms away that the kids from next door had no reason to be expected to be looking through?  I didn't sit on the jury and didn't follow the case well enough to know how it turned out or even if it's worked it's way through the courts.  I just remember the story unfolding from "creep gets his just due" to "man kills neighbor because toddler said...."  Point being, I hope this guy in TX was right.  My gut wants nothing more than to believe this father did what was right.  I sincerely hope that's the case.  If it turns out to have been different it will be a sad thing indeed.  Bear in mind, things are often not what they first apear.

Every incident of this type certainly needs to be reviewed by law enforcement, but there needs to be a pretty high bar, before it is turned over to the persecutors.  And then it should be up to the prosecutor to prove there was a crime and not for the accused to prove he is innocent.
