Reunion that Almost Did'nt Happen!!
« on: January 22, 2004, 01:23:30 PM »
I've been sitting out front of the house most of the afternoon. I even passed up on basic human bodily functions. A pile of snuffed butts on the ground, watching and waiting. I went inside once when the dryer buzzed at me so I was putting away some of the wife's things   While in the back of the house my wife (the one I walked the aisle with; 2 leg type that cooks) came in and said "Did you get your gun  " I said "NO"
She says "Well the UPS man just left a note on the house 2 doors down and the box he was carrying was about the size of the case your gun came in." I asked where he was and she said he left in that Big Brown Truck!!
I grabbed my keys and fired up the Goat (Dodge P/U) and gave chase. I spied the kidnapper at the Chevy Dealer near the end of the road. I slid up behind it and snuck (sneaked) along the side of the Big Brown Limo. Nobody inside so I waited. Here he came out of the dealership with a smug smile on his face. I pounced on him with great vigor and asked if he had a delivery down the road and he said he did but gave another number. I asked (demanded) he check again so he looked saying Benelli, I replied Beretta. He made excuses and checked my I.D. I would have thrashed him within an inch of his life but he started asking about shotguns and what was in the box. I tore it open (the box) and opened the molded case to check her condition. She was slick with a lotion (I guess to keep her youthful appearance) and her barrel was filthy. She had been shooting her mouth off I think! He apologized and left after I let loose of him. He talked real plain when my hands were not wrapped around his throat.
I brought her home only to be blasted by the WIFE about her lousy day, ruining the MOOD. I put Ms Urika away in a SAFE place and sat on the couch, listening to my spouse.  The mood I'm in; It would not be good to go anywhere with a loaded gun right now. So here I sit telling The Shotgun World my problems.
I'm so upset I'll have to finish this later.

BYE ya'll

Randy

RWH24,

I am still waiting to hear news from my AL391.  Last I heard was that she arrived to Beretta Service and that she'll be back in 3 weeks, almost 4 weeks ago.  I am constantly asking my (2-legged) wife if the brown Limo had drop a box for me and the answer is "niet".  I am really worried about my 391.  I constantly have nightmares about what they are doing to her.  If she's got a parts transplant.  Or if she's been put to sleep.

Congratulations on your 391.  Hopefully everything gets well now.

LJB

p.s.  How do you manage to get yours back faster than mine?  Did you pay for services.  In the letter they sent me they said to call only if my one year waranty did not apply.  Mine is right at the edge but within the year of purchase; therefore I did not call.  Do you think I should?

I would call there number and ring there chimes. I would ask where your gun is in line, again. I just told them I only had this near thousand dollar gun 2 months and now it has to go to the shop for 2 months, this ain't right. I told the guy I had problems with a Rem gun and the customer svc was bad. Maybe I should have bought a Rem again, cause I would know what to expect.    :?
When your or anybody elses gun arrives at Berettaville, they just put them in line, first come first served. My paperwork I received back with my gun showed a gunsmith/gun tech spent 1.5 hrs with her. This included test fire and safety check. Packed and out the door.
Last Sunday the 391 was shot 50-60 rounds w/o a single burp.
I am also pleased with the new Beretta 3901 RL 20ga I bought for the wife. It was shot by everybody in the group. It didn't rest hardly at all. 200-250 rnds in a couple hrs back yard clay bustin.

Good Luck and let me/us know how she goes. What's her fav gun oil?

Maybe we should send her some when she gets home  :P  :P

RWH24,

I did follow your advice.  I called Beretta today and they told me that my 391 is waiting on parts from Italy.  They did tell me that the parts will resolve the FTE/FTF problem and that there were 3 shotguns with the identical problem (apparently a defect from factory).

They did not tell me exactly what part was going to be changed; however, they have the parts scheduled to arrive by Feb 16th.  Do you have any guess what parts they may be changing?

LJB: The only part I could think of NOT kept as stock parts at a FACTORY would be a receiver.  I would think they kept a stock of everthing they would need in-house for repairs.
I'll be watching for a re[ly to see exactly what they did change out. There will be a yellow slip on the outside of the box stating exactly what they do to your gun.

RWH24,

The lady that talked to me about this said that ALL the parts they have come from Italy.  Would this be something they run out of?  Or a new problem that they did not stash parts for (like you said the receiver) Or simply, they are having a massive quality issues and they can't keep up with parts at hand.  Just speculating you know.

I will let you know when I get it back.

I was on the phone w/Beretta Tech the other day and was forwarded to a Gunsmith. Randall (the one w/vmail) advised me that if I wanted a new 12 ga Optima barel w/OptiPlus choke tubes I could'nt get one. All are on new guns being shipped out. It also requires a new forend. Larger dia barrel.

I guess we will have to wait and see. I feel for ya man
