Be gone for a week
« on: June 30, 2012, 01:52:41 PM »
Have our youngest son getting married down in Indianapolis, so will be gone for the next week.

I don't mind going down, but hate having other people water and watch our garden.  Just don't trust other people, who are non-gardeners, to water the right way etc... After this, no more leaving during the growing season.

I got one of these from walmart for about $20. http://www.orbitonline.com/products/Timers/02/01/26/1960/
You just set it for what time, how often and how long to water. If you get rain that week you can delay it. I've had it for 4 years now. After the season is over I take the batteries out and put it in the house. It saves a lot on the water bill because you don't forget and leave the water running. Also it's convenient because you can have it water early in the morning before the sun gets to bad if your not a person who gets up with the chickens.

c'mon down, Indy is in the same (or close to it ) heat wave we've got, maybe you'll stir up some kind of northern breeze to cool this place off  :)

Congrats, and have a great trip.

On my honeymoon we didn't have AC.  Never did as a kid.  Get's hot in eastern NC too!
