American Eagle Tactical ammo
« on: June 30, 2012, 03:58:07 PM »
Has anyone shot the small black box American Eagle Tactical in a Handi 223? It is made by Federal. It is a lot less expensive than the normal ammo I use for the range but don't want to get into some hot military stuff. I need to know if it is safe and that it won't do any damage.
Thanks.

Wow! 50 people have read my note and noone replied. I guess I should take that to mean noone has used this ammo which makes me leery of using it myself:)

Ive used it. just make sure it is 223 and not 5.56. It shot quite well out out of my 1-12 twist ultra barrel. The 5.56 stuff generally runs at higher pressures. There have been quite a few threads about it.

Thanks Bucco. I will make sure it is 223. It is about 2 bucks cheaper than the Remington I normally use so I hope it is ok.
