Dedicate my 444 Marlin Handi to shoot the flex tip?
« on: June 29, 2012, 12:39:36 PM »
Not trying to start a debate on bullets, but I would like to load the 265 Hornady flex tip in full length Remington cases. Would it be as simple as reaming the throat for the extra length? And would you end up with a little more powder capacity in the Remington case with the Flex tip seated to the cannuler(sp) ?

Mine works at 2.775" as it is which is well beyond the cannelure.

The Marlin is based on the action length, not the chamber,

I didn't find much else in the way of pointed, jacketed bullets for the .444.  Pretty skimpy selection.
