I like the first one better, but have you checked out the "bandido" from www.pistolpackaging.com I have that one and really like it. :D

I did have one of the Mil-Tech  holsters, I used it for a scoped ruger old army. For the money it is great it served me well although I must admit it was for only 1 season. I have also had one of the uncle mikes holsters that was for a 10 inch contender. I did not like this as much it did not lay as flat as the  Mil-Tech did.

another idea is you can always get a soft case that had "d" rings and use that in place of the holster.

The soft case I got for my contender has 4 "d" rings on one side as well as  wrap around handles. I have yet to do this but I am gonna get some leather straps and attach one to the top 2 D rings  this should work just like a holster but with the added benefit that the gun is always cased

Other than aesthetics, what makes the leather bandito rig worth the additional dough ?

just my 2 cents but i have never had a cordura not make alot of noise when drawn which in my opinion is not very good at handgun ranges, also with bandido belt you can get interchangeable holsters just buy new holsters. the extra rounds on chest feature is also pretty neat. my uncle mikes for my T/C just never felt right. i am slowly but surely getting leather instead of cordura for all of my handguns i intend on keeping, also cordura is cheap enough to buy one of them to for rainy days. some people may disagree but i feel my bandido rig was worth evey dime i cant say the same about 40.00 cordura. i bought the cordura for 10'' T/C brought it home and never used it one time. My take on it is you may be happy with cordura you may not but i can assure you i think you will be happy with pistol packaging bandido. it is a quality product. and the scoped or non scoped feature in the same holster without buying a new holster is awesome. i can carr 14'' 44mag with scope and 14'' 410 in same holster. i may be wrong but i dont think cordura will do this. hey let us know whatever you get and your opinion of it :D

The one thing everyone is overlooking:  A holster is for carring the gun and not hunting. it is the same for a sling. it is better to have the gun in hand then try and draw it when the deer at handgun ranges. If i am hunting from the ground the gun is always in my hand or on my lap. if i am hunting from a tree stand I will have it on a tree hanger right beside  my hand. I am always scared i will drop the gun out of the tree stand

the joy to me of a handgun is not having to carry it . if i wanna carry something all the time i have a marlin 1894P. i can carry a 22 and a 44 at same time in holsters more comfortable and lighter than a rifle. i dont take running shots anyway so there is plenty time to draw. just my 2 cents :D if ya wanna save money by all means get cordura if you want a nice holster get bandido

I have the mil-tech on the way from Cabelas.  I really like the bandito, and will probably have one sooner or later, especially if I end up with a contender G2....  But for now the Mil-Tech will more than meet my needs.

Thanks for the help

Love my Bandido, which holds my .480 for me when I take it afield.
Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition!

I have the uncle mikes for a 8 3/8" taurus model 44. It is nice it holds the gun really well and it's comfortable and ruged. But it's loud when drawing. It has like a vinal material inside and YOU CAN NOT draw quietly. I  glued some felt inside but it is still LOUD. It also has a heavy duty snap on it to hold the flap over the gun and man it is also very loud. You have to snap it or the gun will fall out if you bend down. I say try the mill tech unless you want to hear "SNAP------SCCCSCSSCSCSHSSCHHJJJJJHHSCCS" just before you draw on that nice buck.

I guess I should mention that this is for carrying my new squirrel rig, a scoped Taurus Tracker .17.  When I graduate to a big game rig, you can bet I'll have the bandito - It is a sweet looking setup...

I hath seen the error of my ways.  Sending the Mil-Tech back to Cabelas and ordering a Bandito rig.

But first, allow me a few questions:
1.) How does the holster attach to the Bandito belt?  Is there a snap on the   beltloop of the Bandito?
2.) Does the holster have a lower beltloop as well that attaches to your waist belt?
3.) Can you use any belt holster with the Bandito belt?  I have several (non-scoped) quality leather holsters I'd like to be able to attach to the Bandito belt.
4.) Does the bandolier belt ever ride up on your neck?  How well does it stay in place?

the bandido does have snaps on back.mine has holes in the holster for a leather thong to wrap around leg, but i dont use it. any of the older western holsters should work that flip over and tie. i dont think a belt slide would. let us know how you like this one    . if anything like me i felt i really got my moneys worth. i have tried slings, cordura, you name it and this is the first thing that to me is really comfortable for a large scoped handgun. and you can use the same holster with or without a scope. mine stays on my shoulder perfect. i dont have a single complaint

Bianchi Bandolier; Who has one?
« Reply #16 on: February 16, 2004, 11:49:14 AM »
I have a noisy Uncle Mikes bandolier and I was wanting to replace it with synthetic holster that is not noisy. Does anyone have any experience with the Bianchi HUSH system scoped holster? I do not care for the leather holster listed earlier on this thread only because of the smell of leather in the woods while deer hunting. Here is a link to the site:

Thanks, Gary

I keep my bandido in a tupperware type container with all of my hunting clothes.  I also put in there some of those earth scent dryer sheets and those round earth scent discs.  Everything smells like dirt including the bandido.  I when I am done hunting, everything goes in the container.  If it is wet, I hang it out to dry outside(undercover) then when it is dry, back in the box.  I think this does help.
