Enlightened use of convicts?
« on: July 09, 2012, 09:48:27 AM »
I notice that some states, usually in the South, they use convicts to do roadway maintenance like cutting grass etc. Seems like a great idea, especially since it's in 90+ degrees and humid weather. A few months of that and I wouldn't be too enthusiastic about going back to jail in that state. Also seems like a good way to get the prisoners doing something constructive.

CONAN. Not sure statewide but our county uses them to do those things too, I believe though that is voluntary and they get a small amt of money. Our garbage haulers are inmates too. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D
