I haven't used the Walther, but I can tell you my opinion of the Beretta.  I like the ergonomics and it has been very reliable and accurate.  I like the ability to be able to change barrels.  The barrel comes off along with the sight rail, so you don't have to sight in the barrel every time you do this.  However, the trigger is terrible.  You might want to figure in the price of a trigger job along with the purchase price.

I dry fired one at a shop, and didn't think the trigger was bad, but have heard that it does have a stiff trigger.  I myself plan to get a NEOS.  The scope rail is a major plus for the NEOS too.

I have heard nothing good about the Walther 22s.  Dealers say of the Walther 22 what Dodge dealers used to say about the Omni...  "Oh, you expected it to work well?"

I stopped in a M C Sports store and they have the neos in 6'' blue for 209.00 + tax out the door. I don't think you could go wrong could you? I don't expect it to shoot like a model 41. Just something to scope or dot and have a little fun with.

Hi there Woodsdweller,
Not to second guess your choices here, but if you are looking for a great .22 pistol that has great ergonomics, fine trigger and in my opinion, about the best stock sites on a pistol, take a look at the Browning Buck Mark.

The Buck Mark is one of my favorite pistols and I do have the Neos, but if I had to choose between them, I would have to go with the Buck Mark.  As for the Walther; I don't have one, but I think it is a neat little gun that probably satisfies a little different niche than something like a Buck Mark, Neos, or Ruger MK II.

I agree with magooch. The Buckmark is the best deal in .22 pistols today. (and all the warnings by the gun press about the Neos makes the Buckmark even more attractive.)

S+W 22s or 22a

If you get a chance, check out the Smith + Wesson 22s or 22a. The s is for steel, a is for aluminum, I think. Very accurate. good trigger, weaver rail standard, push button barrell release.  I haven't seen a bad one, very reliable. I hated that allen screw takedown on the Buckmark. High value.

Yes on the BUCKMARK it is a fine smiauto. Might also consider the RUGER 22/45another fine one. As far as the S&W 22a I do have one but haven't had it very long and haven't shot it much so can't say other than I like it so far and hopping it's a good one just has a different feel can't pin it down. :-)

I went to a gun show about a month ago, my choice was between a Neos and the Ruger 22/45, I took the 22/45 and love it.....One thing to consider the the amount of aftermaket stuff for the 22/45......
