Burger King sweet pertater fries. Really good!
« on: July 09, 2012, 03:09:50 AM »
I tried the sweet potato fries at Burger King during a recent road trip. Quite good! Stopped in to a BK to try them, liked them, then tried them again about a week later. Second time they were much saltier, and that was at a different store. When they're not so salty, they're very good. I use way less ketchup on these than with conventional fries.

It is the cross I must bear in this decadant day of dipping fries in sriracha, aioli, mayonnaise, and, God help us!, mustard. Somebody has to uphold the standards of decency and rectitude.

I request salt-free fries. I usually need to wait a couple of minutes but the fries I get are FRESH. Of course, I salt them to taste before eating them.

The Burger King here folded a long time ago. However Sonic is doing great and they have the sweet tater things. Wife likes them.  Once was enough for me. I'll stick with real taters for french fries.

I deep fried some sweet potatoes here at home for Mom and Dad since Dad is a diabetic and can't have regular fries or carbs in general.  They were good.

I ate some deep fried yucca once and it was a lot like home fries.  I'm sure it's a starch of some kind.
