What's wrong with "family" ?

  In recent years much concern has been leveled for single mothers, blended families, alternaste life styles, same-sex marriage,
 "significant other" (in place of spouse) and etc, etc... 
   Perhaps this is a good time to give proper credit to the large, committed family. The original context of family is the backbone of our nation.  Get me right though, I am not belaboring single mothers or any other natural relationship..but throughout history the "family" has given prosperity and stability to nations, whether the patriarchs of old New Nngland or the matriarchs of the Iroquois confederacy..  Three cheers for FAMILY..

IG, I believe also that the traditional family is the very backbone of this nation. There has been a movement to discard the traditional family as being necessary. Its just another piece of the foundation that is crumbling.

Where I work, the traditional families you describe are in the extreme minority. Almost everyone there has at least been divorced once, some multiple times. I can only think of one other person who has been married for an extended time, about 25 years, and her husband tried to kill her once. Others live with siblings, ones wife and daughter ran off with a convicted pedophile who did prison time, many are single moms. Homosexuals are overtly so. The company seems to like it that way.


The contractors have tended to be more likely to be in stable marriages with no divorce. I'm themonly full time employee that's been married long enough to raise kids and have never divorced.


Growing up, my kids had lots of friends and only two families had a married couple, most of the others were broken homes through divorce. When I was growing up, there was one divorced lady and her son living in the neighborhood and she was the only one. She was treated as tainted because of her divorced status.

legislators began to shift toward nontraditional families in the 50s & 60s to create a more mobile society. This was to meet the needs of a nonagricultural economy. Business and industry needed people to be more mobile to meet the needs of business and industry, coorporations and banks. Tradidional vales die out in the process. No turning back. ear

  Sadly, it is the traditional values that have held us together as a nation for over 200 years...but we can see the deterioration going on now with the abandonment of those very important ..traditional values.  Just my $ .02

     With the new Obamabot rules for the military..perhaps they go by military rank..one could be a gunny sergeant..and the other a rear admiral..

My wife and I went to her High School 1962 Senior Class Reunion last week.
As we found a table and sat down there was a pamphlet there with events that took place in 1962.  One in particular jumped right out at me. 
In 1962 the Supreme Court voted 6 to 1 to ban prayer from public schools. My mind reminisced when this great country began, that the United States Government published the Holy Bible to be placed in all public schools.  The more we distance ourselves from this book, the more our country deteriorates.
