rimmed 300 whisper

Anybody ever cut a rim on 300 whisper,if so what brass did you use?

I have not done this, but wouldn't this end up basically being a .30 Herrett-type round?

   I think anything the .300 Whisper or the Blackout will do the old thuty thuty will do better if we're talking Handis.

I agree with the exception of a small case being more efficient (load density wise, and possibly accuracy due to it) when used with very small powder charges such as for subsonic use.  Other than that one exception, I couldn't agree more.

.357 brass one pass in the 300(AAC, BLK, WHISPER, .221, WT F) dies.
 The necks are a little short, maxi brass would have to be trimmed.
Both will work.

Sounds almost too easy.  If this is all it takes, I dont see a reason not to do it.  I mean, brass is plentiful, and I would have thought that that would be the major hurdle.  I say go for it and keep up updated.

What's left is getting the rifle and cutting the rim slot.


...300BLK Handi rifles are due in March...ooops.

Never done it here, but seems either rimmed-.222 cases or [rimmed] 5.6X50R cases could be modified into rimmed-.300 fireball.
 
Of course MANY cases and loadings could be impressed into the 'quiet' sub-vel roles!
