would anyone know the Part ( s ) numbers for a factory original sights and would they be able to order from H&R ?

I'd ask Brian56 if he has any. If so, he'll give you the part number. I don't know if any of those listed in the FAQs are for that rifle. I don't believe they are.

The WGRS rear sight part number and price is in the FAQs on the retail parts page, I think the front sight is FR03020 $30.90 (2008 price), Brian would be the one to ask for sure tho.

If they don't have em they're available at several retailers, but the H&R usually has the best price.... at least on the WGRS rear sight. The 17AUG is the standard 38-55 Target sight and is .584" tall, if you want more range I recommend the .494" 17AML. FWIW, the .404" tall 17AHB works great on the 45-70 with the Williams FP rear sight, dunno how it would work on the 38-55 tho. Numrich has the 17AUG in stock for $18 without inserts, I highly recommend the Lee Shaver inserts if you want a fine post or something different.
