Just wondering what you all think of the Henry lever action .22? My son just picked up the NWTF version and I'm impressed with the aparent quality.

I bought the one with the octoganal barrel (H001T) about a year ago, to plink and play Chuck Connors. After an initial uh-oh with the mag tube pin, and a trip back to Henry, I have been pleased with it. The receiver is painted, and the paint has chipped a little around where the hammer comes back, but a coloring with a Sharpie fixed it. Its a gun that begs for you to take a kid shooting with.

I have been watching and waiting for a Marlin 22MAG 1894 lever forever... (Should have bought one when new :-[ )  They are commanding BIG $$ WHEN you find one... It was recomended to me to buy a Golden 22M. No one has any... I need to have it in my hands to decide...

The STD models are adaquite, just seem "cheap" BUT so do the Winchester 22RF levers too....

Overall everything I have read people like them.

I have the plain H001 model.  It is an inexpensive gun, but the overall quality is still high.  It cycles smooth and has a light trigger pull.  Mine shoots dime size groups at 50 yards with a weaver 2-7x28 scope.

I have a Henry H001, about ten years old. It has the smoothest action I have ever found in any levergun. It shoots very well with a very high fun factor. Rotten apples and minimags are a hoot, and the deer clean up the mess. If I
somehow lost this one, I would buy another in a heartbeat!
