Henry Mini Bolt and Adult use?
« on: July 14, 2012, 11:38:03 PM »
Howdy folks!  New to the sight and brought here by a question regarding cannon loads, but saw this section and had to ask.  I'm going to turn my next dividend check into a few guns all in 22lr.  On my list is a few AR7 guns for my almost adult/adult children and one to tuck away for my only grandson, the Henry Mini Bolt.  My question is:  Is the Mini Bolt large enough to be fired by an adult?  I'd like to show my grandson how to use the gun and shoot it not just hand it to him and describe what he should do.  I realize the short stock and all, but was mainly worrying about being able to put my finger into the trigger guard without touching off a round unintentionally.  Any help would be appreciated.  Smithy.

You should be fine.  May be a little hard to get a good postion for accuracy depending on your stature but you should be able to handle it safely enough.

there's no problem shooting the mini-bolt.
my favorite rifle is a cricket.  full size rifles now feel like they weigh a ton.

btw, welcome.

I have a slip on recoil pad t get some extra length on my AcuBolt 17. You might want to give that a try.

Thanks a lot guys, I'll have my dealer order me one (I too have shot the Cricket, but this being a different gun I though I needed to find out).  So if it's like the Cricket I'll be in business.  I just wanted "hands on" instruction for my grandson (and my daughter and her husband), because once I decide to give it to him, it will be up to his folks to keep it safe and continue in instruction and supervision.  Thanks again.  Smithy.

Good to see someone passing the shooting sports on to future generations!
