wifes getting her first new car today.
« on: August 02, 2012, 10:26:32 PM »
Shes never had a brand new car and i told her she could buy anything she wanted under 30k that was a gm product. She picked out a buick verono. Went to look at malibus and once she saw the buick it was all over for that.  Seems like a nice car and consumer guide really brags it up. Personaly i told her we shoud be buying a new truck instead  ;)  but shed have nothing to do with that! I guess everyone deserves at least one new car in there life. Thing has a keyless ignition, heated leather seats and even a (censored word) heated stearing wheel. All stuff that i told her could be real problems 10 years from now but she closed her ears to that argument. Now ive got to wait 4 more years for a new truck :o Oh well mines only got 60k and has been paid off for 3 years allready. Still those pretty new ones are calling!!!

The Buick division makes by far the best cars that comes from GM regardless of the nameplate or price tag. The LaCross will be the platform used for the new Impala that is everything Impala used to be and more. There is also a rear wheel drive version planned called....what else-SS. We're hearing a 430HP 6.2 engine with an 8 speed automatic. That oughta push ya back in the seat. The wife will live a long time before she learns to hate that Buick. Good choice and good for her.

we looked for a long time before buying. Had to shake my head as its one of the only cars american of jap that consumer guide has given staight 10s accross the board in every catagory. Sure is a solid little thing. Doors close with a sound you have never heard out of an american car. Took a 150 mile round trip to my dads and to east supper and was pleasantly suprised to see avg gas milage of 34.6. Epa rating on it is 31 and i would have to guess once broke in it will do better yet. another nice thing about a buick is the typical gm warantee is 3 years 36000 bumber to bumper. the buicks have 4 year 50000

I've owned two new Buicks, one a midsize and the other a fullsize. They were likely the two best cars I've owned.  Still, with the events of the past three years, if I were looking for a new car or truck these days, I'd be looking at Ford for the same reasons I'd pass on GM.
