No serial number, an "I" in a circle and the letters "P" and "O" appear on most components.
Any idea of date of manufacture ?

Does have the Chicopee Falls address.

Numrich Gunparts Corp. Cataloge includes the Stevens 5100 on the same  page for the Stevens Mdl. 311 16 Ga. SxS dubble so most of the parts must be the same.  The 25 th Edition  Blue Book Of Gun Values page 1472  list the Mdl 311 Stevens SxS but not the Mdl 5100.  My 16 Ga SxS  28 In barrels with Dbbl triggers was made by Stevens  and sold by Shapleigh Hardware Co. St.Louis Missouri .  Only  1500  is on the right side of action.  SHAPLEIGHS KING NITRO is on the left side of the action.  The barrel, forearm, and action had DGC on each part but the action also has a 4 and V on it. The Blue Book also lists the Mdl 315  which states that the shotgun was mfg under various trade names so what I have may be a Mdl 315.  The price listed  for the  wood stock 311 : at 60 % is $ 115 and at 95 % is $ 185 with the note,  add 20 % for 16 Ga.  If I were to sell my 1500 I,d ask $ 225 for it.

The Mdl 311 was discontuned in 1989  but I have not found any dates for the Mdl 1500 Stevens.  Shapleigh  Hardware operated from the mid 19th century untill the middle of the 20th century.  I dont recall which year a law required a serial number be stamper on each firearm so your shotgun was made before that date.
