I'm not much of a country fan, but really appreciate it for the vitality of it. So many other genres have become stagnant and insipid. We're lucky to have a part of the music scene that still draws talent, and puts on good shows, and makes recordings that people are interested in buying.

The singer sounds like he has an ingrown toenail and some one is standing on it.  ;D Sorry, not a country music fan although I'll admit it beats rap.

Cabin 4, what do you think of Chris Isaak.  He's a good ole California boy.  His "Wicked Games" and a few others are as good as it gets.

C4. I liked that. I especially like the old country where the singers dressed like they had some pride in themselves. Too many today look like slobs. POWDERMAN.  ;) ;)

I don't listen to any country newer than the '80s.  I'd be perfectly happy if all I owned were Conway Twitty and Keith Whitley CDs.
The problem with troubleshooting is....sometimes it shoots back!

I can relate to that. Keith was and still is my favorite. When I was younger, he was the man.....We have all his CDs and still listen to them regularly here.

I'm not the biggest bluegrass fan. I do like it but I'm just not likely to buy any of it.

Our age and geography have a lot to do with our taste in music ;) You are younger than me, and by your dress, I would say you prefer the Western style of music. (The CB hat) gave it away lol!
I like some of the Western flavor songs but my favorites are the George Jones (Nashville)type of country.George, being from Texas does a bang up job on Swing as well.

Give me.........George "Thats Jones" Not Strait, Gene Watson, The Voice (Vern Gosdin)Tom T, and even some of Conway's. To Me, the Country music started to morph too fast to be called country in the late 70's.I don't really consider that group and song you posted as Traditional. I guess it's Traditional by a 1980 standard  ;) That said! If you like it,that's really all that counts. That's what music is all about, and why we have so many different versions of it.

I really dont listen to western or care for it that much. I like what I would consider the older Nashville style. Conway, George(s), Keith, Alan J, Randy, etc. There are many more of course to add to the list.

I grew up on Willie and Waylon; still like Willie. Little brother used to work at his studio.

Some country is alright, but I'm more of a Gordon Lightfoot/Emmy Lou Harris kind of guy for that genre; day to day, Beatles thru Led Zepp rock.

I have always liked a variety of music but the new country left me behind a long time ago. Most of it I don't even consider country anymore. I listen mostly to older country, old rock and roll, and even some clasical music. Schubert, Bach, and Beethoven now that's going way back!
