Dance lessons worth it?
« on: August 01, 2012, 02:42:34 AM »
My wife and I want to start going out dancing. I don't know nuthin' about it, so I need to learn. I remember hearing about places that sell dance lessons. Is that worth it? Or is there another way to learn that's reasonably efficient?

I'm gonna bet your wife will feel it is worth it. In this case your thoughts are not needed, just your attendance. ;)  I suppose iot sort of depends on where you want to dance though. I would certainly want to know how before going to some big polka fest.

I'm the one that wants to do it. She's the one that's following along (but she thinks its a good idea). I don't know anything about it, and never tried it except to just mimic what I saw and not try to kill, tackle, maim, or otherwise injure other people on the dance floor.

Im not a dancer, so my opinion may not be worth much...  I believe it depends upon what style of dancing you like.. ballroom or ballet seem to take serious lessons, while the newest popular dances are seemingly taught at dance studios.  Square dancing I believe, can be an OJT (on the job training) situation.
As PM said, anything which cements a man and his wife closer together, can only be good.
