Let's see if this works.

This is not going to be some great sharing of knowledge or anything. Just how I bedded my scope rail.

First I took the scope, rings, and rail off the Handi. Then I cleaned the rail, barrel, and threads with Gun Scrubber. I could not believe all the crud under there.

I roughed up the bottom of RAIL with some 80 grit sandpaper and cleaned it with some Acetone. Next I applied a coat of paste wax (the kind made for floors)to the barrel and let it dry. When it dryed I buffed it lightly with a rag and layed on another coat. When I waxed I made sure that I went well beyond the area of the scope rail. Next I mounted the rail back on the barrel temporary like. Took some masking tape and put it all around where the edge of the rail would be if you were to you at it from above. Then the rail come back off and the rail got another wipe down with acetone.

Next I mixed up some JB Weld Exopy. I put it on the bottom of the rail. I carefully put a small bead on the back part of the rail. Just a thin layer here, staying back from the screw holes. Then I put a big glob on the front part of the rail. after that, I put the rail back on putting some grease on the screws. As the JB started to set up, I took an exacto knife blade and carefully trimed the excess epoxy. Then I pulled off the tape and used some Acetone on a rubber gloved finger to smooth it and give it a nice fillet.

Notice that there is a fine line all the way under the rail.

Very nice job Whitedogone! I also like your gun cradle,.slick.

Wish my workbench looked that clean and neat. I spend more time moving stuff before a project than time needed for the project.

I have that problem there too.  Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't.
That is an interesting idea, but.....I will bet good money it will break loose.  Myself, I would just locktite the screws.  Not only do you have the recoil, but you have expansion and contraction of the chamber when it warms up and cools down.  I think it will make a good bed for the base though.  I just don't think it will stick for very long.  I bet if you put 50 rounds through it and take out the screws, it will fall off in your hand.
....make it count

That's just what I hoped it would do!  I didn't want it to "stick"  I just wanted 100% contact.

The other thing I was talking about ...'I have that problem too'...I was referring to another post, someone said they couldn't see your pics, but the post is gone.   That also happens to me with Hunt101...the pics disappear sometimes.
