240 grain XTPs 296 and Winchester primers have worked well for me!

Cast Performance, wide nose gas checked, 300 gr.  Use mag primers and W296.  My Ruger SRH loves these.

Also use same bullet at 265 gr for the 41 mag.   I have neck shot deer at 85 yards with this load (Leupold 2x scope), the deer just drop.

Lee 310 cast bullet.  It's accurate and hits hard out of my Ruger SRH   First few boxes of these that I shot convinced me to sell my S&W 500 and buy another more practical gun.

Apples and oranges, ain't it? Some just can't handle all that recoil of the 500s.

In review of my initial post-Sorry-Loads were not the question. For over 40 yrs. my favorite 44Mag bullets are Sierra 180  and 240 JHCs. When I was out of Sierra 180s, I found some Hornady 180 XPTs and they worked also. Most of my AL deer taken with a 44 were with S&W/Ruger handguns, but my wife's 6 pt B&C Score 100 was killed with a Ruger 44 Carbine and Hornady 180gr 44/over H110/296.(Speer #8 load). I pissed my neighbor off( a short guy/braggart) when we were sighting in guns for deer season and I shot a 5 shot group with my Ruger Super Blackhawk than he did wih a Win M70 308 with a 3x9x40 scope! BTW, I shoot it a lot and he doesn't.
