range report on my new winchester 1200 s

i   tested  my  12   guage  and  20  guage  out  on  some  skeet  and  shot   buckshot  out  of  the  12.   i  am not  for  sure  how   to  judge  groups  with  buck  shot    but  I  shot  at  2  ranges   the   ranges  were 30  yards and 45 yards   my  gun  has a 30 inch full choke.   The  first  load   was  remington  1 buck 2 3/4 16 pellets   at  30  yards  all 16  hit  inside  the  paper  plate aiming  dead  on     i  repeated   this   5  times  and  all  were  consitant  at  placing all  16  in  the  plate   at  45  yards  only  about 4  pellets  were  hitting    I  switched   to  0 buck reminton 2 3/4  at  30   the  o buck  put  all 12  in  the  plate  i  repeated  this  5  times  and  the  resutls  were  all  simnilar   when  shooting  at  45   i  mustered  and  average   of  5-6   in  the  plate   i  had   1  box  of  the  new federal 00 buck  which  i  st  5  plates  up  and  shot  at  45   out  of  the  9  pellets   the  lowaest  amoutn   that  hit  the  plates   were 4   all  the  others  were   between  4-6.   i  am  not  a  shotgun  expert  and  am  actually  a  novice   but  what  i  intend  to  do  with  this   is  carry  it  as  a  gun   while  walking  through  the  woods   i  have  tons  of  hogs  and  what  i like  about   this  gun  is  i  can  pump   5  rounds  pretty  quick  if  need   be  i  realize   from  what  people  say  thast    buck  shot  is  not  adequate   for  pigs   but  i  feel  maore  sage  with  a  12  guage 00   buck  holding 5  rounds   when  chasing  a  wounded  animal   than  my  single  shot  rifles   luckily   i  havent  had  to  chase   one    but  i  am  doijnhg  some  guide  work   and  i  want  a   weapon  that  i  can   get  a   quick  shot   or  a  second   shot  off  if  need   be

Hi,Since you do some hog hunting and i never have I guess I'll ask you a question.Is a 20 gauge(smoothbore) slug adequate for hog hunting?I know it will go a good 4-5 inches into a pine tree but i have never shot any living thing with my 20 Gauge. :blaster:               :bye:
