Jerry,
I can't help you with the tools, but, I'll check on the manual.  I think I have one put away someplace.  Will get back to you tomorrow, after I look for it.

Jerry,
I forgot to ask, which disc rifle? They all use the disc system.  I'm guessing you mean the Disc Extreme, is this correct?

I thought I had a owners manual handy, but I couldn't find it.  But, if the gun was made before 2011, call this number for a owners manual.  256-260-8950, ext. 2. While your at it, ask them about getting the tools you need.

I'm surprised that your having problems, I've always found Knight Rifles personnel to be extremely helpful.

Good luck, let us know how you make out.

Old SchoolRanger thanks for your reply. The rifle has Knight disc on barrel and thats all. Ser # is 007xxx so I belive its an older one. I finally got a call back. They have no manuals before 2010 don,t know why they put that number on the web site. Any way I ordered adisc ex manual she said that wold work. Don;t know and some orange disc's. Going on two weeks haven't seen hide nor hair of them yet. They are going to need to provide better service if they expect to stick around. I don't think i  would buy from them. Worried about service. Again thanks for your help  jerry

JBW...What do you need to know???

I've got an original Disc that I bought new in '99 and have the manuel here on my desk...

Don't buy the tools...Go get a 7/16th, 1/4 drive, deep well 6 point socket from Sears to take off the breach plug...Make sure it's 1/4 drive as 3/8 drive is too large to slide through the back to get to the plug...With this and an extension and rachet you can pull the breach plug...To take the bolt apart they have a small wrench but eith a 7/16 or a 1/2 inch wrench works just as well...Does it have a set screw on the left side that has to be removed to take the bolt out??? If so, you  need an allen wrench for that...

The only other thing you need is a jag for cleaning and a T-handle to put on the ramrod and you are good to go...

As far as a deer load, try .429 Hornady XTPS in either 240 or 300 gr...Mine likes 80grs of Goex FFF but Pyrodex RS will work as well...Order a couple of packs of the green sabots from Harvester and you are ready to go...I always buy my bullets and sabots bulk and use loose powder and work up a favorite load...It's much cheaper than buying the prepackaged sabots and bullets...

Flintlock   I got the tools you suggested and they work great. Thanks again. New problum. I got the XPT'S and they shot very well. However after six or seven shots it missfired.Tried a couple of more times.Nothing. I pulled  the breechplug and fround it was pluged with dry hard  burned powder.  I was shooting 70 grs of trip 7 and Rem 209 primers. Any thoughts on this. Appreciate any help you or others can give me on this. I would like to stay with the orange disc its handy and from what I have read others like it better than the newer red one. Its a little hard to clean with a scope though. Thanks again.   jerry

The first 2 that come to mind is that you were swabbing between shots and used too much cleaner and plugged the breach plug...I use a couple of patches dampened with rubbing alcohol and they a dry patch between shots when sighting in...

The other thing, I don't like 777...I prefer either FFF Goex or Pyrodex R-S...

JBW,  Were you able to take the bolt apart? Not just off & out but unscrew the firing pin from the bolt body.  The proper size open end wrench can take the place of the supplied wrench deal. This is important for proper cleaning. I do have the manual your in search of, down to my last one or 2. I could copy the pertinent pages & send them, PM if interested.

The orange primers discs work fine. I've even used them with the new Blackhorn 209 powder. You need a hot primer for that, I use CCI Mag primers. All else was stock with the gun. My usual projectile is a 250 grn Hornady SST, the regular, 'easy-glides'(low drag) were to loose.

I just found this web page that might help you get the correct manual.
