BBF says;
   "  Re the looters. Somehow I think if those people were ever asked after the flood (New Orleans not the BIG ONE) if they believed in God  they would reply in the positive and wouldn't consider their looting as Sin."
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  Saying one "believes" in God, means little.  Here is a suggestion from James::

    ... "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe,
and tremble. ... Thou dost well: the devils also believe and tremble." ... (James 2:19)

  ...But you're not alone in your confusion.  Being a Christian requires that a person "do business" with God, personally...and the best evidence that such business was done...is shown by the "fruits" of salvation..

    Certainly, looting does not qualify as "fruit"..

From Conan;
         " If there are crimes committed that involve drugs, like vehicular homicide, burglary, etc, there are plenty of other laws that cover other offenses."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

   Sure Conan...  That is acting after the damage is done....I'm not pleased that, nor am I pleased that they do the same with the drug alcohol.  They already have legalized alky though..but why expand the problem?
  Freedom of speech, religion, RTKBA, unlawful search & seizure, etc are all important freedoms to be fought for, as are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness...  and I don't believe our founding fathers meant a drug.befogged "happiness".. ;)   ;D
   The aforementioned rights are important, whereas there seems to be no value in a drug addled brain..

       It seems like the ultimate booster of freedom, would be one in favor of teaching youngsters from a baby that there is no value in leaning on chemical crutches..
   Real freedom is assisting them to shake off the shackles of addiction; or preferrably, not not leap into the addiction/slavery game in the first place...

Ironglow, I actually agree with you, but I still think legalization is the answer. Seldom one to give credit to european approaches to civil responsibility, I do have to give some of those notoriously alcohol soaked countries credit because they permit drinking, even among minors. But they practically nail you to a cross if you get caught driving while even slightly under the influence. It sets up incentives to keep the drinking to yourself. And it really works.

 I wasn't confused, The first time I opened up your reply I ended up with a blank page ergo my "What?" post.

Some looters may have believed it was a gift from God, the opportunity to loot, not the water. ;) ;)

Re: Deivils tremble.

 Maybe so, it sure doesn't slow them down and as you hopefully recall, they have been given leave to do so. That is another one of those sticky points for me.

  Ungarded property is never an "opportunity" for a Christian to profit..although it may be a great opportunity to prove his character to God...and himself..

   Seems like a 'raw deal' doesn't it!  However, we must remember that our "here & now" is very temporary..maybe 80 years or so?  We are in a 'kindergarten' if you will..preparing for an eternity..the devils may just be part of our tests of passage, so we can appraise ourselves.
