338 Finely got it done
« on: August 24, 2012, 08:43:22 AM »
Well I have been playing for some time with my 338 Savage 116 W/comp and a Barnes 160gr TTSX bullets but finely got it to shoot.

4 different powders and 130 bullets I never budged on the primers it was always 215GM and I did move it in and out off the lans.

My final powder turned out to be RL-17 as there is ZERO load data for it and the 160gr TTSX I had to keep working up watching for pressure signes and using my chrono.

Here are a few pictures. One is at 100yds and it's also got 180 NoslerAB the other is 200yds with 160.

By the way i'm taking this Antelope hunting next month as I have 5 tags to fill and I plan on using this on 1 or 2 it's dialed for 300 yards.
Remember it's where the first bullet goes out of a cold barrel that counts most.
