I have always been concerned about the genetically modified seed and plants they produce. If you have ever farmed, which I have, and you look at the grain / crops you produce, and think about the fact that you can save sacks of that grain and plant it next year and get.......NOTHING. That is scary as hell when I think about it. Where I live , even with heavy watering, I have not gotten diddly squat this year. The blooms dropped in the heat, they were eaten by birds, the bees were few and far between, and several plants were not as labeled when I bought bedding plants. I know the heirlooms do not produce as well, but they at least reproduce. People need to seriously look at carrying capacity, and maybe not cut back to it, but at least not always count on the best case scenario.
