Not a clue wher Lake Simcoe is, but I assume in Michigan.  As for rigs to be using, perch LOVE jigging spoons.  My personal favorites are the blue and silver kastmaster and firetiger buckshot spoon.  Tip them with a minnow head, jig them a few inches off of the bottom, or whereever your flasher unit shows the fish to be.  The also like a live-bait rig, if you can get a school under your holes and keep getting bait down to them, you can generally keep them there for a while.  Good luck, let us know how you do!

perch there are like here on lake winnipeg. big lake, so they move alot. use lots of search lures, ie. dropper rigs, pickerel rigs, a flashy, heavy spoon with a dropper hook or small jig. just keep moving and searching. electronics are a must.  good luck!!
