Factory Scope Base?

Getting ready to mount a scope on my factory fitted barrel with the factory fitted scope base. Do I need to remove the base and clean the threads or the screws and holes with solvent apply lock tite or does the factory do a good job?

It's best to remount it, I always do, then you know it won't be a source of potential problems, there are tips in the FAQs on both removing and mounting it, there's a good chance you'll have to use heat to remove the screws without stripping the heads.
