Coon problem...
« on: September 08, 2012, 10:15:48 AM »
Shot the first one.  That made room for more to come.  My garbage isn't the only one they raid.  Too many cats and night time dogs out to set open traps.  They won't go into the live catch.  Guess someone already tried that down the street.

What about paw grabbers along their path to the woods or nailed up in a tree crotch in the back where neighbors can't see?  Any preferences?  Set ideas?

Can't figure a good way to bait these though? Looking for ideas I guess?

Thanks.

peanutbutter and marshmellows work for me.cats and dogs usually don't give it a second sniff.duke dogproof traps is what i'd use.

Sweet baits and lures are the way to go ,when cats are around.Marshmallows are more of a sight attractant than anything. As the weather gets colder, use something with more odor than peanut butter.
Don't nail any traps up in the trees--keep them on the ground.
