ok

cva mountain rifle w/ two wedges.
solid wedge, not a pin-type wedge
like they were trying to sell you
.400 wide .125 thick-forgot to get
length,but that's unimportant.

f.y.i. for you- older traditions and cva's
share a lot of common parts.
i looked at my tr. deerhunter- same wedge
cva bobcat-same wedge

i know dgw and log cabin shoppe have them
(or used to) i looked in my out-of-date totw
catalog, and they listed nothing close.

you may want to pick up a mainspring for a
spare. they're about the same price as a wedge.
the lockwork on most older cva's and traditions
share the same guts with the exception of
the better ones have a tumbler with fly.(correction-should have wrote bridle here too)
the mainspring deal is either one will last
forever and a day or it will snap at the most
inopportune time. those locks are very simple
and easy to tune.

good luck and let us know what happens

t/c grayhawk wedge is .350 wide
.110 thick and 1.450 long

you should be able to find the correct thing.

it's seems to me d.g.w. has kinda slacked
off since mr. kirkland passed.
when i first started buying from them, there
was *nothing* they didn't have, or at least
they would say they were out, and would you
please try back in 7 days or whatever.
now it's sorry we don't carry anything like that.

shame you've had to go through
so much crap for a part.
usta find 'em everywhere.
the sporting goods and gun stores
had those little cva cabinets with
jags, and nipples, and wedges,. . . .

kinda like the coleman lantern and
stove parts in the cabinet

'course, there also use to be a
dozen gun shops within a 10 minute
drive of here too. . . :(

ok. . . .good luck

20 + years ago folks use to ask me
why i would pay 5- 10 % more at the
gun store when i could go to b.p.s. or
a chain store and save money.
i always said if we don't spend some
money with the local fellers, they won't
be here to help us when we need it.

sad to say, i was right. :'(
