.243/100 gr. Partitian (powder)

Looking for a good load for this fall.  I want to load some 100 gr. Nosler Partitians for deer.  I have some H414 on hand and haven't tried that yet, but will soon.  With luck that might solve my problem.  Any one have any experience with H414 and 100 gr. bullets?  Im also thinking about trying either IMR 4350 or H4350.   Just looking for some educated opinions.

IMR 4350 and H 4350 are the same unless you have a very old lot of IMR 4350 and either is a good choice in your .243.  I have never loaded 100gr Partitions, but the 90gr Partition has put its share of venison in the freezer.

Never could get the 100 grain Nosler Partitions to group with the 4350 powders and have never tried H414.  Mine loves H450 behind this bullet and shoots 3/4" groups with my load.

I can't offer a pet load or testify as to most accurate; but in terms of max performance H414 and H4350 are almost identical in that application.  The kicker is Hodgdon's new Hybrid 100V, which will best the both of them by over 100 fps; with almost no temperature variance.

I've had good luck with 4831, 4895 and Win 760 behind 100 grain bullets.  4831 being my favorite.
There's a newer Win powder out 780 I think that is supposed to mimic 4831 and go through your powder measure better haven't tried it yet.

4350 and 414 have near identical burn rates and both work real well with 100 grain bullets in the 243. Id suggest though that if yo use 414 you at least give a mag primer a try to see if groups improve. Ive allmost allways had better luck with mag primers using ball powders.

Where can you get H450? It's been long gone from the shelves.
Try Winchester Supreme 780 or H4831 if H4350 doesn't work.

IMR 4064 works well in my .243

I have used 414 in the past, it was just a "also ran".

But IMR 4350 was outstanding. ;)  I don't load 100g Partitions, simply because I bought about a doz boxes of 85 & 95G partitions, some years ago.

The 100g Partitions are excellent bullets you will do well using it.

I like Hornady 100G RN and Sierra 100G Spitzers, pushed with a 40G load of IMR 4350. Its not a hot load, but has proven most accurate in a couple 243's.

H4831.
 
My .243 and .243WSSM both shoot sub MOA with 100 grain partitions for hunting and 95 grain ballistic tips for varmints/plinking.  I tried some of the others mentioned and went back to my H4831 loads.
