I don't think this one is avoidable.  I think the U.S. is correct to stay out until Israel moves first, and they surely will.  They cannot sit and wait until Iran shoots first.  Iran has made its position clear enough regarding Jews.  I hope when the times comes for America to enter, they strike hard and fast.  Political consequences bedamned.

Obama's right.  We need to do what is in America's interests first, not Israel's.  Romney is Israel's lap dog.  The saber rattling against Iran isn't about Iran's nuclear program.  It is about Israel wanting to expand it's frontiers between the Nile and the Euphrates.  Iran's nuclear ambitions are just an excuse. 

If the desire is to make the world safer, the real question is when are all governments going to start paying attention to the nuclear disaster that is happening right under our noses at Fukashima Daichi?  Nuclear power mustn't be developed in Iran and must be decommissioned also in Israel and the U.S.  Daichi proved that man is unable to handle the worst case scenario's that can happen as happened at Fukashima.  No nation possesses the ability to manage nuclear energy safely for the long term. 

Likewise, if you remove nuclear energy and weapons from Israel, then it's neighbors won't be desiring it.  But that won't bring peace!  Israel want's all Arab land so it can make Arabs all slaves.  They will find a way to get in there and take over those nations.

Israel is in no real danger from Iran. Actually it's the other way around.
Israel has hundreds of nuclear weapons, and is actively involved in the destabilization of Iran through illegal means.
Israel is advocating preemptive war against Iran daily.

There is absolutely no good reason Americans should go to war for Israel.
Armchair commandos and supremacist, racist nations always want war.  Most Americans don't.

And yes, nuclear energy for peaceful purposes beats using it for war, but it is dirty
and inefficient in the long run.
Iran wants nuclear energy for medical and electrical power. They signed the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty) and allow inspections.
Israel did not sign, and makes A-Bombs.

Of course these are 'outlandish claims' by a 'conspiracy theorist' and 'not based in fact'.  Right.  Those are just buzz-words to throw around when the truth doesn't fit your preconceived notions.

I doubt he is jesting. I would also believe Iran would not be looking in developing nukes if indeed they do so now.
Consider that any and all of the conflicts Israel and its neighbors had in the past did not involve or needed nukes. I don't see this changing unless the Kooks in charge of Likud decide to do so. I don't see how  the use of them can be restricted to one geographical location.
 
Israel not having nukes IMO would not endanger them. That is one thing the USA could do for all of the ME countries. Stay put behind your borders or else !! That goes for all of them and Russia could  be On Board with that.Lastly, what they do within their border is their business, not ours.

What I'm saying goes outside of politics.  I am talking about mother earth and the future of humanity.  If humans are to survive hundreds of years from now, we need to get rid of nuclear power.  The earth is already overly contaminated and is becoming worse daily because of this one accident.  The threat to humanity now is Fukashima Daichi.  It will take 100 years to secure that plant.  In 2 years minimum workers will be able to begin removing the fuel.  Right now it is burning and sending radiation into our environment and nobody is doing anything about it except cover up the crisis to save the nuclear power industry.  The worst accident far worse than Chernobyl is happening now.  You have Cesium 134 in your soil, food and water no matter where you are in America.  Who regulates nuclear power?  The IAEA?  They are biased in favor of the industry. 

So the bottom line is you don't need to worry about Iran because when the people speak up nuclear power is on the way out.  That is the megatrend.  Remember the book Megatrends?  Nuclear is on the way out.  Now, from a political perspective, that means no nukes for any country.  They can fight their wars with conventional weapons.  One country who no longer possesses it will no longer make belligerent demands against other countries.  They will have to behave like all nations and how they are treated will be dependent on their good behavior.  Likewise, when nations treat each other as they would want themselves to be treated then there will be peace.  That's it.

The murdering etc will probably not stop period but can be greatly reduced if you curtail interference with a culture that doesn't want yours considering it evil and from Satan much like you see theirs.
 
 If you must travel into those countries, keep the piehole closed, don't break their laws and do not leave a bad footprint.

Next, limit immigration from those countries to very small number if at all. Absolutely no religious laws into our legal system regardless whose religion. Those Immigrants that choose to ignore western laws should be sent packing back to wherever they came from.
