A 73-year-old woman who told police she was raped in New York City’s storied Central Park said she’d like for someone to torture and “kill” her attacker.
The unidentified victim spoke in an exclusive interview with the New York Post following the 11 a.m. Wednesday attack in a wooded area near Strawberry Fields, the park’s memorial to John Lennon.
“Kill him,” the Upper West Side resident told the newspaper. “Cut off his (censored word). That’s fine. Cut off his feet, then hit him over the head. Then give him life in prison.”
The avid birdwatcher said she feels jittery following the attack, but is mostly enraged. She suffered a broken eye socket, a black eye and several bruises and scrapes in the attack.
Authorities have released surveillance images of the suspect, who is either “Russian or Slavic,” she told the newspaper. The woman told police the suspect is the same man she saw masturbating in the park less than two weeks ago.
A law enforcement official told The Associated Press that investigators are questioning a man in the attack. No arrests had been made as of midday Thursday.
