Try cuttin' a chaw from a bar of lifeboy soap, has a better flavor than Dawn liquid, and lasts for many sharpening sessions

it's me again, do you know of a good place to get a Washita  or a  hard Arkansas stone? I just got a new Katana  and i am looking at getting a better stone for sharping it.

I'll post a link when I get home, but I would suggest Scythe supply.  The reason is the blades they sell are top quality forged blades and should never see a grind stone.  Just as a quality katana should only be hand honed.

they have changed their selection, but here is the link.  These stones are to be stroked across and down the length of the blade in short even arcs.  The bevel cut of the stone ensures a consistent edge.

 A knife store or sporting goods store may have something similar. Shipping would probably eat you up on a $5 item. http://www.smkw.com/webapp/eCommerce/products/SI9898.html Something with a paddle to keep your hand away from the blade is a good idea. Either way have the blade stationary and keep your hand on top of the sword. Dragging the stone on the edge. Or get a large stone, having it stationary and move the sword pulling straight back on the stone, towards you. For a stationary type these are pretty cheap for 2 arkansas stones and a synthetic coarse. It is also very heavy so that it stays put with long blades.
