Minnesota timber wolf hunting?
« on: October 08, 2012, 02:19:00 PM »
I have been drawn for the upcoming Minnesota timber wolf hunt. Any tips or suggestions? I have a primos turbo dog and am planning on hunting near the deer yarding areas and using coyote sounds.

I have heard many wolves howling in the morning and evening around the Ely area.  Up the Echo trail and west of Ely.  I have seen 2 at different times while driving in the north country. If you walk any of the trails you are likely to run into wolf sign.  I have friends that have seen them deer hunting and my wife saw one last weekend by Lutsen.  They are everywhere but like coyotes you will hear hundreds for everyone you see.

Good luck,
