Police are asking any other potential victims to come forward, and asking the public for help in identifying the other people he was working with.
The suspect was indicted in Louisville on Monday, and police had been searching for him since then.
The search ended Wednesday night, as he was arrested 300 miles away.
"He's a smooth operator, very sneaky," said alleged victim Earl McFarland. "That guy came around the house and said, 'You've got bad sealer on the side of your trailer,'" said McFarland.
That was in April. McFarland said 26-year-old Thomas Reinhart showed up at his home off Kramers Lane with three other men.
They offered to put extra sealant on his trailer, and were there for about 30 minutes.
McFarland was inside the whole time, writing a check for $4,500. The 84-year-old said it all happened quickly.
"As soon as they got that check they were gone," said McFarland.
And once they were gone, McFarland checked out their handiwork.
"They didn't do nothing," said McFarland. "Here's what they claimed, they didn't do this. This was done 13 years ago or later."
