After years of apply I finally got drawn for the archery hunt in early October.  Anybody ever been and willing to pass on some  advice.  Three days isn't allot of time to find a pattern and I am really hoping to knock a sika off my bucket list.  Unfortunately they are not revealing what unit until orientation.  Besides running two thermacells I have no game plan so far

Plan to be wet and walk  a lot, hope you got a good climbing tree stand, they move very seldom during daylight closer to twilight love the marshy areas

i put in for years and didnt get picked but then got it 3 years in a row, but they were gun hunts. they are elk and they do bugle and archery season will be about rutting time. carry a hoochie mama cow call. rays shanty on 175 is some kind of good. the hook, and the areas closer to the headquarters will prob be best. the hook requires 4x4 with vehicle extraction equipment.
