MICHELLE BIDEN ?
« on: September 25, 2012, 04:14:50 AM »
She may be Ivy league, but her historical awareness places her more into Joe Biden elementary school! ;) ;D ;D ;D

She gave a long winded speech the other day, about in the middle of which she made this statement:
*******************************************
" Now, back when our great-grandparents were riding that Underground Railroad, back when John Lewis was marching across that bridge in Selma, and Jim Clyburn was sitting in an Orangeburg jail, the injustices we faced were written in big, bold letters on the face of our laws.  And while we may have had our differences over strategy, the battles we needed to fight were very clear."
*****************************************************************************

Uhhh...Michelle..did they ride first class or coach..  did they enjoy the fine food in the dining car?  C'mon Michelle; any 7th grader knows a lot better than that!  Did you really earn your degrees from Princeton, or were you passed through as a "token" sample of political correctness?

Here's the text of her speech:  http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2012/09/michelle_obama_to_congressiona.html

The paragraph i cited is about in the middle..look for the one starting with "Now"..

Michelle is very intelligent and calculating. She gave a wonderful speech at the DNC about there is no us or them. Now many of the Dem commercials specifically use the "them" term for non-Dems. In speaking she tries to bring the country together, in action she helps the Dems split the country. JamesIII

Errrr, what's you point? You have a problem with black folks rising up the food chain a little..?  In Michele's case she's way up the chain...made it as a director of the CFR...your defacto real governmnet.

So, you didn't get it either?  Do you still think the "underground railway"  was an American copy of the Orient Express? ;) ;D ;D

Perhaps you better crack those history books again.. ::)

If a African American (I hate that term) gets to a platform or podium or microphone, they invaribly refer to the offenses committed by a long dead generation.  I am not prejudice against any race, but it's obvious to me that's not a 2-way street.  The current white population in this nation is constantly called to accountability of what we (the current population) did not do.  We had a war over those issues, and it should have been settled at the end of that war.  But, in the black community, it will never be settled.  It's a culture now of their own.  Cultures develop, in part, from injustices and wars.  But to carry animosity and reasoning for current endeavors to today's society, is not condusive to a leveling out of sameness.  If we had sameness in the nation, politics would not get so ugly.  We must not ever forget what Michelle said:  "For the first time, I'm proud of the nation," or similar words.  She became proud when a black/Muslim took office, but not before.  My rhetoric has no value.  I can't change a thing.  But a low-life poverty stricken goat farmer like myself can see the reality of just who it is that won't let go of the race card.
By the way, is their anyone here who would like to buy a goat?  I have plenty.  I can't promise they don't each much, but I can say that they eat most anything.

Bless you Mike;
More people like you would make for a happier country.  My first progenitor to arrive here was in a sense, a slave..even if for only a few years.  He was a Scottish highlander, captured by Cromwell at the battle of Dunbar(1650).  He was then transported to America (1651) and sold, as an indentured slave.  Not quite the same as outright slavery, since it was for a predictable time..like a prison sentence.  He was put to work in the Saugus Iron works.
Do I hold a grudge against Cromwell.. the English..the UK...or maybe his contemporaries, the Seperatists & Puritans, who were running around relatively free at the time?   NO..that would be stupid, just as stupid as if I were to carry a hatred for the captain of the "John & Sara"...his transport ship.  If I hated all these people & groups..I would only be making myself more miserable!
Recently I heard a preacher say;... " Hating, is like taking a bit of poison each day...hoping it will harm the other guy!"
I guess I couldn't improve on that!      ....... It is far past time to just "get over it!"

Some folks like to pretend that since some of us don't like Obama's politics, we must be "racist".  Actually I would be much happier if I could be voting for Herman Cain, rather than Romney..and I think Rep. Col. Allen West is one of the few honest truly politicians going today.  A truly admirable man...
Who was foremost in trying to kill Herman Cain's candidacy..and who are leading the left wing charge to destroy Allen West ?
..It was other politicians and political operatives of color... as you must have already noticed..

Mike; you sound like a man who would be a fine neighbor...even with the goats.. ;) ;D ;D

She obviously was ignorant as to what the "underground railway" really was.  Just FYI..sometimes they rode along the underground railway, but often they walked or even took riverboats..hardly a conventional railway..
Perhaps she has a grudge against the Chesapeake & Ohio...thinking they stole their railroad from the runaway slaves.  ;) ;D ;D
I wonder...Does the Chessie run all 57 states?   You have to admit, that was a great "Bidenism".. ;) ;D

TM;
Either you truly "don't get it" or you are purposely playing ignorant on the subject:
She obviously actually thought the "underground railway" was a genuine railroad..such as Amtrack or the Santa Fe....

My notes added in the OP were entirely concerning the ignorance of the "underground railway" statement..not a thing to do with the tired, old, overplayed question of "race". Why in the world did you launch off into that direction?

Quote
"White People Problems (WPP) is a joke anyway, tongue in cheek on the internet for those current, and is about the kind of problems white people whine about; eg. gas mileage of the Lexus, Bobby's soccer match interferring with Golf, the price of Grey Goose, or Facebook stock plummeting, etc., etc. compared to those that really do have problems. Get it..?  Probably not....

What a bigoted, condescending statement.  So, white people have no problems (compared to everyone else, I guess)?  Tell that to the millions of white people who have become unemployed since obama took office.  Tell that to the millions of white people dealing with poverty (or do you think only "minorities" have to deal with that issue?).  Tell that to the millions of white people who deal with the same damned problems as any other group of people.  I'm sure michelle obama would agree with you (even as she spends "our" money with such nonchalance).
Aim small, miss small!!!

things were alright here in America, before the white man came along & screwed up everything:
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

.
And guess what _ _ all those real white people's problems you enumerated, blacks have had those problems for years and years, or worse.
.
.
..TM7

I don't think blacks have the problem whites have when it comes to being turned away from a job because of quotas.
I don't think blacks are denied promotions because they have to promote a white guy ahead of them.
I never heard of a White only policeman's union.
I don't think there is a NAAWP is there?
And I didn't see where I got extra points on the Civil Service exam for being white,,, but I seen where extra points were given if you were black.
I don't think afirmative action ever let me  step ahead of a better man for the job.
So please explain how blacks have it tougher .
