this forum Has sit to long  time to post :o
Though trading I've got 2 contender barrels coming  10" 7TCU and a 10" 300 whisper

which do think would make the "production" gun and why?
I shoot a 32-20 in standing and a 14" 7 TCU in UAS   so I keep both 7 mm and 30 cal bullets so that is no factor
got brass for both so that not a factor  8)

got any pet loads of ether ? ::)

Shoot the 7 TC/U in Production.  Shoot the 300 Whisper in Standing or put a scope on it with a Ken Light mid-rise and shoot it Unlimited Standing.

Just my opinion.

Hold that Whisper case up next to a 32-20. Look pretty similar, huh? Realistically both will do the same thing in a Contender, but one will likely be more accurate with a given bullet due to the different throating. I'd shoot whichever ends up being more accurate with the load you want to shoot.

And the TCU kicks a lot more than the other two, as well as shoots flatter so I sure would rather use it for freestyle shooting.

Sounds like you're on the right track! Have fun with the new barrels, I am sure you will be seeing some good scores in the coming season.

Got a chance to shoot both
this is the  3rd. 10"tcu I had /tried and the 1st. to shoot as good as my 14"  So looks like it's a keeper
and now sports a ken Light Rib with bow-mar rears  and if nothing happen I will campaign it in
Production next year.

whisper
I was out of scopes for testing  so I strapped on a red dot  and very impressed with this little round
would love to see what it will do with a scope. ;D
But I may follow my friend Nobade and shoot the red dot  in unlimited Standing  ;)
Cause he showed my what a TCU with red dot can do to a lip LOL  :o
