I've got one and I like it, but as it's my first and only AR I don't really have a frame of reference.
The only thing on mine that I'm not excited about is that the muzzle brake is slip-on and pinned instead of being a threaded screw-on type.
I just shot an 80 round National Match Course today and the rifle did as well as I could.
It IS a candidate for a trigger job.

I have an e2s, it has had one failure to extract and that was with steel cased ammo that I bought for cheap.  1 in 9 twist in a chrome lined barrel and chamber.  It is an A2 upper, were it and A3, I'd own multiple. As accruate as can be expected, not one hole but nothing you'd have to hide from your shooting buddies.

Joe, it appears we were born the same year.

What can I tell you about the Bushmaster xm15-e2s? Well, it is chambered in .223/5.56mm. It takes a box magazine of various sizes. Oh yes, Bushmaster makes it.  Bushmaster is owned by Remington.  In reality nothing you do not know, sorry.

I know nothing at all about the Slip 200 products.

Best twist rate, depends on what wt. bullets you plan to use most.  Best build wt. again depends on the use you have for it. If you want a carry all day carbine then you can build one under 6# with a 'pencil' VietNam era style barrel. For NRA High Power you probably want over 12#. For 1000yd match shooting you will probably go over 15# with a 24" barrel.

You really need to decide what you want your AR for to answer many of those questions. However, since the AR15 is 'modular' you can have different top ends for one bottom end. You can even change stocks to match your top end use.
